I was riding this bike every other day then one of the worst winters in decades kicked in. Not a day goes by that I don't look at the bike and wish I was on it. Spring is close now and I'm getting excited. I have owned much more expensive bikes but none that beat it for smooth ride and ease of use. I highly recommend this bike for anybody!

My sons bought me a 7100 two years ago as they were into cycling. They got me a really nice bike. i have ridden it in two MS 150 City to Shore Rides and it was great. My boyfriend is an avid cyclist and we ride everywhere together. He prefers his Trek mountain bike but he rides mine short distances, mostly to put it away for me, and he likes it too. Says my sons did me good.

I bought mine about 3 years ago and just didn't ride it. My transmission went out on my SUV and I have been depending on it for grocery shopping, etc. This bike is wonderful... dependable, and comfortable. I will never stop riding again !

Well, I JUST got into cycling and purchased a 7100. I could not be happier with my new purchase or my new sport! I have only ridden [...] bikes before this and I have to say... FORGET [...] BIKES! This thing is: light-er-weight, more comfortable ride, shifts better/cleaner, doesnt make "noise" while riding (those who have ridden a cheap bike know what I am talking about), and just overall a better bike! Summary: yes, it IS a lot more expensive than [...] - but would you drive to work on a lawnmower or do you want a REAL car? Same thing! Do you want a "thing with 2 wheels" or a "Bicycle"? ROCK on Trek!Dave

ride paved city roads and bike paths, bike is comfortable performs good to great when used for intended riding applications.overall unless you are in the right place at the right time you couldnot beat the quality you receive for the price..a satisfied first time trek customer only many rides and time could reveal anything else.....

I just turned 53 and its time for me to start getting back in shape after years of sitting on my butt at work! I bought this bike today after reading reviews on this site and the Trek webpage. This bike seemed to fit the bill of just what I was looking for in the price range. I could'nt be any happier with this Trek 7100. I tried it out in the parking lot of the dealer and was so surprised at the ease of the ride. I didn't waste any time buying it! I took off early from work just to ride the bike, went out and rode about 5 miles of flat and gentle rolling terrain. I actually could have rode 5 more miles. The bike was so easy to ride. I look forward to getting on this bike after work now! for the price I just don't think there is a better bike. I want to get back on it as I'm writing this review! I have a Giant and a beach cruiser that my family can ride when they visit, but no one is touching my Trek!!!

I purchased this bike about 2 months ago, and have not had any problems. I have rode about 250 miles so far. You probably aren't going to win any races on this bike, but if you plan on putting a lot of miles on it, this is the bike for you! Definitely time for some cable adjustments. This is a durable, comfortable, and well made bike!!

Great for the first 500 miles, and then "BING" two rear tire drive side spokes broke on a ride. Had that repaired, and now it has happened again (this time just one spoke) 7.5 miles into a 25 mile ride. Is this going to be a recurring problem? If so, my rating of this bike will drop significantly.

I simply couldn't find a better bike for the price. Everything else that I looked at from Marin, Jamis, Trek, and others were all well over $500 for anything close to this. I know it's not as nice as some of the more expensive models, but it's a perfect entry level bike for a recreational, commuture, or fitness rider. I have about 100 miles on the bike so far and have zero complaints about it.

I bought my Trek 7100 on Saturday May 22 in Sterling NJ. AMAZING! I say this about the bike [...] I know very little about cycling, but I knew that I wanted a way to ride, exercise, and have a new way to get around my suburb. The bike is so comfortable and easy to use that I have ridden every day since the 22nd with the exception of yesterday when it was raining and hailing. The comfort, the ease of use (gears and breaks), and empowerment of seeing that I have ridden distances that I would normally have driven are all pleasing to me. In 1 week I have ridden 22.5 miles, and I can't wait to keep going. I highly recommend this bike.
